Paintings in oils and mixed media allow Roberta Sajda to speak to the world of the human condition. Large abstract or figurative works are her passion. Her work has been exhibited internationally. Currently she is represented at DaVinci Gallery north of Houston, in Tomball. sHE SHOWS HER WORK AT SEVERAL galleries in New Mexico.
Usually you will find a camera or a computer keyboard in her hands when she is not at her easel. She works in the traditional darkroom while embracing the creative potential of the digital future. Creating montages of painting and photography, sculpture and painting, design and photography, and interpretive photography are just a few ways she blends her creative skills.
As a lifelong teacher she continues to mentor in the arts. Workshops, lectures, private teaching, and demonstrations are frequent. She was recently awarded the "Distinguished Fellow" medal for the Texas Art Education Association. Honored as Secondary Art Teacher of the Year, Roberta taught sculpture, painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, and digital graphics to young people for 29 years. Her seminars for teachers across the state helped many educators find ways to strengthen their own teaching methods.
